Jana is an expert in EU social policy and children’s rights. She has over 25 years of experience working at the EU level, influencing policy and supporting policy communication and implementation.

From 2006 to 2022 she was Secretary General of Eurochild, a network of organisations promoting the rights & well-being of children across Europe.  She helped design advocacy campaigns on early childhood development & deinstitutionalisation. During her leadership, Eurochild influenced several EU policy milestones, notably the EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child & the European Child Guarantee.

From 2015-2019 she was elected President of Social Platform bringing together 45 civil society networks advocating for a stronger social Europe.

Prior to joining Eurochild, she coordinated a European network of voluntary service organisations & worked in private research & consultancy companies.

Jana is an independent consultant since March 2023.  She works at the intersection of private philanthropy, civil society & the EU. Her mission is to support social change advocates more effectively harness EU policies & funding.
